I only washed these diapers in the Esembly powder and line dried the outers. They were only used for a couple of months. Two of the outers I bought used and they are slightly frayed at the top elastic but it has not affected it's effectiveness. they still work just fine and that elastic is still scrunched up and not stretched out, so they do their job.
